Although we're known for selling and installing leveling kits and mild suspension lifts (4" to 6"), we can definitely help you go bigger.
In terms of off-the-shelf options, our selection of BDS Suspension lifts includes 8" and even 10" options for Ford F-250s/F-350s, Excursions, and Ram 2500s/3500s, and GM 3/4 ton trucks and Suburbans.
How big is too big?
If you're installing a suspension lift on your truck, it's entirely personal preference. We've seen trucks with 20" custom lifts riding on 44" tires that are daily-driven!
Is that the right answer for 99% of truck owners? Heck no—but it's your truck, and you should build it the way you want it.
Here at FASS Motorsports, the biggest suspension lift we'll install any given week is a 4" or 6" kit. At that height, whether it's a Ford, GM, or Dodge/Ram, the truck will still be easy enough to drive, require fairly minimal modification, and look great on a set of 35" or 37" tires in most cases.
But, in case we didn't make it clear, we want to sell you the suspension lift that you want.
So, if you tell us saying that you want to slap a 10" BDS Suspension Lift on your Ford Excursion, we will make it happen!
What's the downside of a massive suspension lift?
Well, it depends on who you ask. The most common complaints from people who think they over-lifted their truck are:
- The added expense of 37" (or larger) tires—which are needed to make the truck look balanced.
- The additional modifications required to install some (not all) 8" or bigger lifts.
- Difficulty with parking and/or fitting in the garage (we're not kidding).
- Drastically reduced fuel economy (increased wind resistance and rolling mass).
- Difficulty getting in and out of the vehicle, and/or loading items.
That said, plenty of truck owners love driving a street-legal monster truck. Whether you're lifting your truck for off-road purposes, curb appeal, or both, it's hard to beat the head-turning power of an 8" or 10" lift.
