For many truck owners, lifting the front end 2" or 3", also known as "leveling" the truck, is all that's needed to achieve the ideal look.
After all, most trucks come from the factory with a slight rake, which does serve a purpose, but doesn't look very good or leave much room for larger tires. If you want to install 33" or 35" tires on your Ram, Ford, or GMC/Chevrolet, a leveling kit is a very good idea.
But, which one do you need? After all, there are nearly-endless options for leveling your truck...
Leveling Kits 101:
When you're shopping for a leveling kit, it might be a little overwhelming. Whether you drive a Ram, Ford, GM, Toyota, Nissan, or any other truck, there's no shortage of options.
To cut through the noise—here's what you need to decide:
- What is your budget?
- How much lift do you want?
- What size tires do you plan to run?
- How do you use the truck (daily driving, off-roading, towing, etc)?
- Will you be installing the leveling kit yourself?
- How old/worn is your stock suspension?
If you can answer those questions, you'll be much closer to picking the right leveling kit.
For example, a 2010 Ram 2500 owner comes to us for a 3" leveling kit, and wants to replace his old, worn, springs and shocks, and has a $2,000.00 budget, we might suggest this BDS 3" Leveling Kit that includes all those components.
