Leveling your truck is one of the easiest, most affordable ways to give it a totally new look. Especially when paired with some larger tires and/or custom wheels, a simple leveling kit is a real attitude adjustment.
Whether you own a 1-ton diesel Ram 3500, or a 1/2 ton GMC Sierra 1500, there are dozens of leveling kit options available. The best part? They're all pretty darn affordable!
Here at FASS Motorsports, we've sold, installed, and inspected hundreds (if not thousands) of leveling kits—so here are our top 3 reasons for buying one:
1. A Lifted Look for Less Money
While a complete suspension system (lift kit) can run $2,500 or more, often a LOT more, the majority of leveling kits cost less than $600. And, because a leveling kit can raise the front end of your truck anywhere from 1" to 3", you still get the "lifted" look you're after.
And the reason is quite simple—leveling kits contain fewer parts. Whether you purchase a spring-based leveling kit (our personal favorite) or a puck spacer, leveling kits only require a few parts to be installed.
This also cuts down on installation time. If you'd like us, or a shop like ours to install your leveling kit, you'll save hundreds of dollars in shop labor (if not more) compared to a complete suspension overhaul.
2. Better Quality Components
Let's face it—we can only spend so much modifying our trucks. For example, if you have $1,000.00 to spend on suspension upgrades, that money will go MUCH further on a leveling kit, than a complete lift kit.
For the price of an entry-level lift kit, you can often get the absolute best of the best leveling kits. Even with premium upgrades like remote-reservoir shocks and upgraded control arms, leveling kits will always be less expensive than the comparable lift kit.
Put simply, your money goes a lot farther with a leveling kit.
3. Improved Curb Appeal with Fewer Headaches
Make no mistake—we love big lifts. But, they often come with additional work and expenses. For example, some aftermarket suspension systems (lift kits) require cutting, drilling, and/or welding on the frame, custom driveshafts, and transfer case drop brackets—among other things.
Because leveling kits only lift your truck 1-3", you're not modifying your truck much. In most cases, you're simply replacing the front springs and shocks, or installing a spacer. Once that's done, it's off the alignment shop for the final step.
Even with a professional installation and alignment (always a good idea after modifying the ride height of your vehicle), leveling kits can run under $1,000.00 all-in.
