Description
Description
Through our 20 years in business, we have built our brand by pairing our manufactured parts with complementing products built to our specification from other industry-leading manufacturers in their respective markets. Through endless trials with these manufacturers, we’ve built a formidable knowledge database fit to produce, or improve, any of these items to suit our applications. Suffice it to say, we know a thing or two about shock quality and tuning.
Having worked with several shock manufacturers, we’ve expanded our capability through contention with varying approaches to shock, piston, and tuning shim design. These trials made us better and, in searching for a replacement shock for the Foxes, made our checklist longer and quality standards more stringent.
Construction Highlights
Both the Internal Reservoir (IFP) and Remote Reservoir shocks feature the same construction:
- 6063 aluminum body for long service life and excellent heat dissipation
- Anodized finish for corrosion resistance
- 5/8″ hardened & chrome-plated steel shafts
- Premium 5WT oil for lubricity, consistent damping, and wide temperature performance
Bushings
The stem-top bushings are a point of pride. In our experience, poly bushings underperform in stem-top applications compared to rubber. We’ve spec’d these Carli Spec Shocks with rubber bushings — our benchmark for durability and performance. This eliminates a frequent point of failure and ensures long-term reliability.
Rod Ends
Constructed of 6061 billet aluminum, the rod ends house a high-quality one-piece bushing and zinc-plated crush sleeves, ensuring precision fitment and longevity.
Cylinder End Cap
The unique cylinder end cap design overlaps the shock body, providing external support to the internal snap ring. This is critical as these shocks act as the travel limiter on trucks without radius arms (and limit straps), ensuring durability under axle load during top-out.
Remote Reservoir Variant
The Remote Reservoir version adds a separate canister to house the dividing piston and nitrogen charge, leaving the entire shock body available for piston travel. This results in more suspension travel than an IFP shock of equal mounting dimensions. It also includes:
- High-quality hoses and fittings, improved over previous Fox offerings
- Performance similar to our King shocks
Reservoir Mounting
For front applications, longer reservoir hoses allow mounting to Carli brackets (frame or coil bucket). Rear applications favor piggy-back style mounting. To finish the package, we’ve added billet, CNC-machined, laser-etched Carli reservoir clamps — a high-end touch for both form and function.
