Description

Performance 2.5” Long-Arm System

The Performance 2.5” is a Jack-of-all-trades long arm system. Converting these trucks to long arms opens a whole new world of ride quality and corrected geometry. Pairing balanced suspension travel (6” up and 6” down) with a 2.5” King shock featuring a long-arm specific piston and tuning profile delivers an unmatched on-road and off-road experience. If you’re not seeing daylight under your tires daily, this is the perfect kit.

The Details:

With the release of the 3″ Long Arm, the older short-arm Performance 2.5” has been discontinued in favor of this extended travel version. This system requires cutting off the factory control arm mounts to install Carli Drop Brackets for the internally gusseted, fully fabricated Long Arm System. These arms are over 50% longer than stock, constructed from 3/16” steel with internal gussets, extended travel capability, more linear stroke, and better ride quality due to their length and parallel position to the ground.

To utilize the Long Arm’s capability, a 6.25” tall slide-over shock tower is included for 12” travel shocks. Included 1” front bump stop drops and limit straps ensure full and safe utilization of the King 2.5” shocks. This setup provides 6” of up-travel and 6” of down-travel, maintaining axle contact over rough terrain.

This system features Carli-specific, blueprinted, Long-Travel King 2.5” shocks on all four corners. For the Long Arm system, an off-road-oriented 5-Port custom piston improves bottom-out performance while maintaining a comfortable street ride. Shafts are machined and polished from solid 17-4 Stainless Steel. Shocks are finished with King oil rated to -55° F and built with plated steel bodies. For prolonged exposure to harsh weather, we recommend wrapping with 3M for a replaceable moisture barrier.

Front lift ranges from 3”-3.25” (year/cab dependent) with 70% more suspension travel thanks to taller, linear rate coil springs. Multi-rate coils are too short to reach full droop potential.

This high-performance system includes a Carli Torsion Sway Bar and Full Progressive Leaf Springs (no options for extended sway bar links or add-a-packs). The Torsion Sway Bar replaces the factory assembly with a torsion bar supported by fabricated drop brackets and Delrin bushings, complete with fabricated arms and dual 5/8” FK heim end links.

The Full Progressive Leaf Pack lifts the rear 1.5-2” by replacing the factory springs, increasing comfort throughout the entire travel stroke. Payload reduction (~15% from a standard 2500) can be restored to 3500 SRW capacity with Long Travel Airbags.

Front axle shift: ¾” toward the driver’s side and ½” rearward. The included Adjustable Track Bar recenters the axle, reducing deflection. Extended control arms are recommended for optimal axle placement.

Wheel and Tire:

  • Fits up to 37”x12.5” tires on 17”-18” wheels with 5-5.25” backspacing.
  • With fiberglass fenders, 37×13.5” tires fit on 9” wide wheels with 4.5” backspacing.
  • Tuned with 17” wheels and 37” Toyo M/T tires at 40F/35R.
  • More rubber improves small bump compliance; ride firms with larger wheel diameters.
