Description

The Pintop is the Backcountry on steroids—take the description for the Backcountry and throw an exponent on it. This system is our most popular, all-around suspension system. It was tuned and rides best with the Full Progressive Leaf Springs.

The Pintop is a jack-of-all-trades system from which every Ram owner would benefit. Raising the Ram platform then adding the 2.5” diameter shocks will support the argument that these trucks should come equipped with 2.5” shocks from the factory. Higher-end systems provide more off-road capability and a bit more on-road refinement, but the value per dollar spent on the Pintop is unmatched. For these reasons, it will likely remain our best seller for years to come.

The Details

The Carli 6” Systems are an entirely different animal than the 3” offerings. There is no entry level; every system is equipped with a custom-tuned shock package and Radius Arm Conversion. The longer, flatter links cycle more linear travel and offer superior ride quality over extending a short arm to work with a 6” front lift. Complete with a Driver’s side axle shock, Carli radius arms allow the axle to roll without binding during articulation—combining the strength of a radius arm with the articulation of a 4-Link. The drop brackets bolt to the frame with no modification to the factory brackets, ensuring the truck can be returned to stock. The gusseted arms boast internal “X” bracing, 3” Currie Johnny Joints, and a gusseted 2-piece Crossmember, making them both serviceable and nearly indestructible.

This system features Carli-specific, blueprinted, King 2.5” shocks on all four corners. We designed custom pistons to establish proper base flow rates for the heavy-duty truck platform, then tuned the shocks for seat-of-the-pants feel. All Carli King shocks are finished with 17-4 Stainless shafts—far more durable than King’s standard hardened shafts—resistant to weathering, corrosion, and chips. They’re finished with King oil rated to -55°F. Note that King shocks use plated steel bodies; we recommend wrapping them in 3M film for long-term weather protection.

Your truck will sit 6” higher in the front with 60% more suspension travel than stock, thanks to taller, lighter-rate coil springs. The rear is lifted 4” via your choice of a Progressive Add-A-Pack with 2” Billet Block or a Full Progressive Leaf Pack. The Add-A-Pack replaces the factory overload with a 5-leaf progressive pack that keeps the rear planted while increasing traction and predictability, then pairs with a 2” block. The Full Progressive Leaf Pack replaces the entire rear spring assembly, improving travel and comfort at the cost of a 15% payload reduction (which can be offset with optional Long Travel Airbags and spacers).

To address sway bar geometry, we offer two options: Sway Bar Drop Bracket Extended End Links or the Carli Torsion Sway Bar. The Extended Links use FK Rod Ends and stainless bodies to restore engagement points, while the Torsion Sway Bar replaces the entire factory assembly with a torsion bar, fabricated arms, delrin bushings, and FK heim end links—this is among the best ride-quality upgrades Carli offers.

Other key components include extended stainless brake lines, an adjustable track bar with drop bracket, bump stop drops, and a drop pitman arm. A carrier bearing drop bracket is recommended for 2-piece driveline applications.

Wheel & Tire

This system will fit up to a 37” tire on wheels no more than 9” wide with 4.5” of backspacing. More rubber equals better small-bump compliance at proper pressures; ride will firm with larger wheel diameters.
