Description

Carli Air-Assist Ram 3500 Suspension System – 2.5″ King Shocks

This is our Jack-of-all-trades system designed for the air-assist Ram 3500 owner needing massive capacity without sacrificing handling or ride quality. Raising the Ram platform and adding 2.5” diameter shocks supports the argument that these trucks should come equipped with 2.5” shocks from the factory. Combined with elimination of the factory leaf springs in favor of a predictable, progressive pack and all supporting components for the air system to work flawlessly, this system is the perfect solution for those unwilling to settle for "good enough."

Front & Rear Suspension:

Your truck will sit 3”-3.5” higher in the front (cab configuration dependent) with 50% more suspension travel than the factory platform thanks to taller, lighter rate coil springs. The rear is upgraded with a progressive leaf spring pack from Deaver, providing 2.5” rear lift while drastically improving unloaded ride quality and maintaining payload capacity. Rear airbag engagement occurs later for better ride and safety. Note: the “ALT Trailer Height” button functions normally when loaded, but may require manual adjustment when unloaded.

The factory air system is revised for optimal performance. Spacer heights and rear height sensor relocation ensure full travel of the leaf springs and proper airbag operation. The front radius arm drop brackets are modified to accommodate the factory air tank, which is relocated to the spare tire area for clearance. This also alleviates interference with Amp Research Steps.

Shocks:

This system includes Carli-specific, blueprinted King 2.5” shocks on all four corners. Custom pistons ensure optimal base flow rates for the heavy-duty platform, tuned for seat-of-the-pants feel specific to Air-Assist Ram 3500s. Oversized shafts machined from solid 17-4 Stainless Steel resist damage and corrosion, finished with King oil rated to -55°F. Plated steel bodies are included; we recommend wrapping with 3M for extended weather protection.

Sway Bar:

Front sway bar modifications include two options: Billet Sway Bar Drop Brackets or the replacement Torsion Sway Bar. Billet Drop Brackets shift the sway bar down and forward to maintain proper link cycling. The Torsion Sway Bar replaces the factory sway bar with a torsion bar, fabricated drop brackets, delrin bushings, and dual 5/8” FK heim end links for improved ride quality and articulation.

Linkages:

To address axle shift due to lift, the system includes an Adjustable Track Bar and Radius Arm Drop Brackets, recentering caster and axle for proper alignment and strong, low-deflection operation. Everything required for flawless operation of all components is included.

Wheel and Tire Fitment:

Single Rear Wheel (SRW): Up to 37” tires on wheels no more than 9” wide with 5.75-6” backspacing. 12.5” wide tires may fit with minimal trimming; 13.5” will require more modification. Recommended 18” diameter wheels for optimal ride quality on 35”-37” E-rated tires (45psi front, 40psi rear unloaded).

Dual Rear Wheel (DRW): Up to 35” tires on near-stock backspacing wheels. For wider tires, increase width to 12.5” max while keeping offset/backspacing near stock. Recommended 17”-18” diameter wheels for optimal ride quality on 35” E-rated tires (45psi front, 30psi rear unloaded).
