The DV8 Offroad Spare Tire Carrier for Jeep JL (2018-2025) is a rugged, heavy-duty solution to move the weight of your spare tire off the stock tailgate hinges. Built to handle up to a 38″ tire (or wheel and tire combos within spec), it replaces the weak OEM bracket with a bolted frame that secures the load to the vehicle body—not the tailgate.

- Transfers Weight Off the Tailgate — Takes the load off the JL’s cast tailgate and mounts the spare to the carrier bracket.
- Cam Nut Adjustment — Allows for fine-tuning of fit and alignment.
- Retains OEM Lighting & Camera — Keeps the third brake light and backup camera functionality (with possible extension bracket for some JL trims).
- Bolt-On Installation — No drilling required; attaches via existing mounting points.
- Heavy Steel Construction — 3.5 mm / 5 mm steel with micro-texture powder coat finish.
- Includes Antenna / Whip Mount — Useful for flag or radio mounting.
Fitment & Capacity
- Designed specifically for Jeep Wrangler JL 2018–2025 (including 4xe & Rubicon 392 in many cases).
- Supports up to a 38″ × 13.5″ tire and wheel combo.
- Recommended wheel backspacing: 4″+; NOT compatible with wheels with –44 offset.
- Will not work with Mopar On-Board Air Compressor option. ([turn0search1])
- JL Xtreme Recon and Rubicon X trims require DV8’s camera extension bracket to preserve rear camera alignment.
Important Notes & Considerations
- The OEM tailgate bracket is considered the “weak link” in many builds; this carrier strengthens that area.
- Use wheels with acceptable backspacing; offset and width must be within spec.
- After installation, double-check hinge alignment and wiring for the brake light and camera.
- If you carry very large tires, consider also upgrading hinge hardware or reinforcements.
