- Studs are a must — this competition gasket requires studs to achieve the clamp load needed for higher horsepower.
Installation Highlights
Have the head and block machined for flatness before installation, and use a radiused cutter for all groove work. Apply a generous amount of lube to the nut, washer and threads for even torque, and never exceed manufacturer torque limits. Aim for 130 ft-lb on initial startup, retorque hot at operating temperature, readjust valve lash, and retorque at least once more before full load or high RPM.
