How do I know if this part fits my vehicle?

Unsure if it’ll fit? No problem — that’s what we’re here for. Send us your vehicle’s year, make, and model, and we’ll verify fitment before you order. We can also point you toward compatible upgrades or supporting parts if needed.

What if I need to return a product or it’s defective?

Most unused items can be returned within 30 days in their original packaging. Some products are covered by a manufacturer’s warranty as well. This common-rail combo is listed for the 2007.5–2018 6.7L Cummins. It includes a 161/191 OEM replacement camshaft, heavy-duty pushrods, 103 lb valve springs and tappets, with break-in and oil requirements detailed below.

What’s included:

  • 161/191 Camshaft (fits 07.5-2018 Cummins)
  • Heavy duty pushrods (OEM power to over 3000 hp)
  • 103 Valve Springs
  • Tappets

Modification Required:

  • There is no modifications required with this “OEM replacement camshaft”

Break in:

To make sure that you have no issues during break-in, follow these few suggestions.

-Disconnect the fuel system and spin the engine with the starter until oil pressure can be read or until oil is coming out of the rocker arms on cylinder#6

-Do not let the starter run for more than 10 seconds at a time

– Once oil pressure has been verified, let the engine start and run until operating temperature is achieved, then shut engine down

-A hot-retorque is very important and will change the valve lash setting, so it is important to set lash last.

-Adjust valves (.010″ intake/.020″ exhaust) then you are cleared to abuse your engine. Enjoy the added airflow

2-3 times a year I get calls from customers that have lash starting to get loose on the last 3 cylinders. This is caused from poor lubrication at the time of initial start-up. In this case the cam literally eats its way through the block away from the force of the tappets. Assembly lube and oil pressure on start-up are a pretty big deal to your cam. Don’t let this happen to you.

Approved oil — required. Use a 15W-40 (or 5W-40 in sub-zero conditions) with adequate zinc, phosphorus, and molybdenum. Thin or low-additive oils don’t provide the shear strength a flat tappet needs. Approved oils:

  • Valvoline Full Synthetic 15W-40
  • Valvoline Synthetic Blend 15W-40
  • Valvoline All-Terrain 15W-40
  • Schaeffer’s 15W-40
  • Mobil Delvac Extreme 15W-40
  • LIQUI MOLY Touring High Tech 15W-40
  • Driven Racing Oil 15W-40
  • Redline 15W-40

Acceptable:

  • Shell Rotella T6 Full Synthetic 15W-40
  • Shell Rotella T5 15W-40

Preferred filter: Fleetguard Stratapore LF16035. Running a non-approved oil voids the warranty. All warranty claims must include the failed parts and an oil sample.
