Ford's 6.7L Power Stroke uses plastic for both the engine-mounted fuel filter housing and the injector return fitting. Plastic resists corrosion well, but it loses strength after enough heat cycles — and when the housing cracks, it can spray diesel directly onto a hot inboard exhaust. The injector return fitting is a second failure point on the same system.
The S&S Fuel Leak Prevention Kit eliminates both without giving up filtration. Rather than reuse the OEM filter cup, S&S went to a two-post mount that accepts a physically larger element — holding the factory 4-micron absolute spec at 99% efficiency while nearly doubling dirt holding capacity. The aluminum Fuel Leak Prevention Fitting ships standard with every kit.
