Description

The Randy’s Transmissions 900XD Billet Input Drum is engineered to eliminate one of the most common failure points inside the factory 68RFE. When horsepower climbs and line pressure increases, the stock drum becomes a liability. The 900XD replaces it with a purpose-built assembly designed to handle real power without the worry of clutch failure or drum distortion.

At the core of the assembly is a billet inner clutch drum paired with a hard-anodized billet outer drum, creating a rigid two-piece structure that dramatically improves durability over the factory configuration. Both components are fully balanced and blueprinted during assembly, ensuring smooth, reliable operation even under sustained load.

The outer drum features increased wall thickness, giving the entire assembly greater rigidity and preventing flex under elevated line pressure. This structural strength allows the drum to maintain consistent clutch clearance and apply pressure when the transmission is pushed hard.

Internally, a redesigned architecture increases clutch capacity by 29 percent over the factory drum, providing significantly greater holding power where it matters most.

To control heat during demanding use, the 900XD incorporates a custom cooling circuit design that rapidly evacuates hot fluid while introducing cooler oil into the clutch pack. This continuous flow helps protect clutches and steels from heat-related warping and degradation during towing, racing, or high-power street use.

The assembly also features high-pressure snap ring retention hardware designed to withstand elevated line pressure levels that commonly cause OEM snap rings to deform or fail. This added strength ensures the clutch pack remains securely contained during aggressive operation.

A proprietary sealing system ensures zero hydraulic leakage and full clutch apply, eliminating pressure loss and delivering consistent engagement under load.

Rated to support up to 900 horsepower, the 900XD Billet Input Drum is designed for serious street, tow, and high-performance 68RFE applications that demand reliability at elevated power levels.

For maximum clutch control and performance, the 900XD is intended to be paired with a Babymaker Series valve body.
