Heavy-duty trucks aren’t known for comfort, and upgrading your suspension often means replacing stiff, immobile factory leaf springs with softer alternatives. While softer springs improve ride quality, they can reduce payload capacity. Carli Suspension’s proprietary airbag systems give you the best of both worlds—smoother ride and restored payload.

Why Our Airbags Are Different

These aren’t off-the-shelf parts. Carli worked directly with the manufacturer to develop no-compromise airbags designed specifically for heavy-duty truck applications. Key design features:

• Billet upper and lower pistons – precision-machined for strength and durability

• Tapered piston design – larger upper piston and smaller lower piston reduces harsh spring rate ramps

• Controlled compression – unlike standard double-bellow airbags that stiffen abruptly, Carli bags maintain more consistent travel, preventing the “bouncy, uncontrollable” rear end common in other systems

• Limited working load – each bag is rated for 2,000 lbs at 100 PSI to provide smooth, predictable support under load

Understanding Working Load

Working load refers to the pressure at which the bag is inflated for normal operation—not the maximum it can withstand. During real-world use, the bag may see much higher pressures when the axle compresses over bumps or heavy trailers.

Carli airbags are rigorously tested:

• Inflated to working height before failure testing

• Burst-tested under heavy load conditions

• Average burst pressure: 500–600 PSI

This testing ensures every bag delivers reliable, long-lasting performance for heavy-duty trucks—whether hauling, towing, or tackling off-road terrain.
