The 2010–2012 Ram trucks equipped with the 68RFE transmission have long been known to operate at higher temperatures than earlier models. One of the primary causes is the factory thermal bypass valve, which has a history of sticking in the cold, closed position—often leading to severely overheated or even melted transmissions. Compounding the issue, the factory thermal bypass contains a major internal restriction that reduces transmission cooler flow by an astonishing 87%. No other bypass on the market provides unrestricted cooler flow like the RevMax solution.

The completely re-engineered RevMax Billet 6061 Aluminum Cooler Thermostatic Bypass Upgrade is designed to eliminate these issues entirely. Utilizing RevMax’s ZeroStat Technology, the internal orifice restriction is fully removed, allowing full-time, unrestricted cooler flow. The result is significantly lower operating temperatures and improved transmission longevity.

By completely eliminating the factory thermal bypass valve, the RevMax upgrade delivers three key advantages. First, it removes a known failure point that can restrict cooler flow and cause catastrophic transmission damage. Second, instead of blocking cooler flow when the transmission is cold—forcing the transmission to generate unnecessary heat—the RevMax bypass allows cooling to begin immediately, preventing excessive heat buildup from the start. Third, it enables proper cooler line flushing without specialized equipment. Unlike the factory bypass, which requires high fluid temperatures to open, the RevMax bypass allows cooler lines to be flushed at any time using room-temperature fluid.
