The XDP OER Series Fuel Transfer Pump XD519 is a quality replacement for the failing pump in your 1994-1998 Dodge 5.9L Diesel. This pump draws fuel from the fuel tank to deliver fuel to the P7100 fuel injection pump, which in turn feeds the fuel injectors.
This pump is mechanical, meaning it bolts to the engine block and is powered off the camshaft with no electrical connections. While these pumps are known to be durable, they can fail due to poor fuel quality, age, and high mileage. This pump is located on the driver's side of the engine bay, almost below the master cylinder.
Removal of the old pump, and installation of the new pump can typically be done with standard hand tools. The pump must be lined up properly during installation to ensure the pump rod does not become bent.
