Installation Highlights
Machine both the head and block for maximum flatness — crucial over 800 HP — and always use a .120″ radiused cutter for consistent groove profiles. Lubricate nuts, washers and threads liberally for even torque, and never exceed the manufacturer’s torque limits. Torque to 130 ft-lb before first startup, retorque hot once at operating temp, then readjust valve lash, since gasket compression changes it.
