The BMW M5 power and handling statistics are completely mind-blowing for a car tipping the scales at well over two tons. The S63 twin-turbo V8 is underrated from the factory and responds well to tuning and bolt on modifications. Calling it the ultimate super sedan would not do this car justice, itâ€™s just that good. But every amazing automobile must have an Achillesâ€™ heel, right? Some investigation into this model told us that enthusiasts were seeing elevated oil temperatures during track driving conditions. Our team set out to create a replacement, high-performance oil cooler that could handle the rigors of extreme driving conditions and the abuse of daily commuting. The Mishimoto S63 M5/M6 oil cooler features extremely precise CNC-machined billet-aluminum end tanks which are professionally TIG-welded to our robust bar-and-plate core. Our strategically designed 55mm-thick core provides a massive 24% increase in core volume, and a 40% increase in external fin surface area. This added surface area promotes greater heat transfer, which directly impacts internal fluid temperatures. Our performance oil cooler is a complete bolt-on solution that includes everything needed for an easy installation such as hardware and replacement O-rings for the oil lines. Our heat exchanger is finished in a durable silver powder coat, providing both corrosion resistance and improved aesthetics. Whether your M5 sees frequent track time or just the occasional back-road jaunt, upgrading the oil cooler is a great way to extend the life of your S63 and ensure maximum engine output when you need it most.
